Here's the skinny,
Born in Ohio,
just north of Cincinnati,
in Hamilton.
I am a HUGE Buckeye and Reds fan (obviously). We moved around ALOT when I was
young....( Arizona,Oregon,Ohio)
and back and forth between the three until I graduated.....in Ohio.
My kids were born in Oregon,
then I decided to move everyone to Arizona.
One day while watching Infomercials and "Hey come to our Tech school and get a
career" on TV, I decided one day to go to a broadcasting school in Phoenix,
to be a sports announcer. It was always a fantasy of mine. 6 months later I
graduated and how I ended up at 8 and counting different radio stations....who
knows. Started my journey in 1991 at an Oldies station in Eugene Oregon, then
News Talk across the hall from the Oldies. Moved to Phoenix
Az..2
stations there. I was the only white dude at the Jazz/R&B station. That was
interesting. Been at 2 stations in Tucson
as well. Moved here..(from Virginia..worked
at the Pentagon) to Sioux Falls a couple of years ago because I wanted to be
closer to my kids and Granddaughter and after 3 years out of radio (taking
longer to get the bugs out than I thought) decided to send Crash a demo and
here I am. I have met some wild and crazy rockers, too. Sammy Hager, Ann and
Nancy Wilson, Joe Satriani, all the Rush members...(don't tell Angie) George
Thorogood.......list is pretty long. Have enjoyed my time here so far and hope to
be around awhile.... Really enjoy the classic rock at the "B"... See you at
Jazzfest. It ROCKS!!!!!!!

Every weeknight at 9, I pay tribute to one of the greatest hard rock bands ever...Led Zeppelin, as B102.7 Gets The Led Out! Zep was a band master-minded by Jimmy Page, a long-time session musician who left the Yardbirds to form the imaginatively named New Yardbirds. Legend has it that Who drummer Keith Moon heard the name and told Page that it would go over like a "lead zeppelin", and the new name was born. Page recruited classically trained session musician John Paul Jones, who knew of a young lead singer in another part of England named Robert Plant. Plant in turn told them about a young drummer friend from another band named John "Bonzo" Bonham, and Zep was formed.
